The entertainment industry is about to witness a theatric invasion from the stable of Dexterous Empire.
At a period when the identity of an average Nigerian is in doubt of our historical bliss, Irin Ajo (The Journey) is a welcome development to sharpen our understanding of the history, the present and the glorious future ahead of us as a Nation.
The project Irin-ajo (the journey) is a stage play production written and directed by Oluyale Aramide F. the CEO of Dexterous Empire.
The play talks about the story of Nigeria from pre-colonial period till date with a prediction of the future of our country Nigeria. The play is indirectly written form where the country Nigeria was replaced with” Community Of All Tribes” with a lot of fictions added. The play comes inform of a Dance – Drama encompassing Total Theatre. This way the message of where we started from as a country Nigeria, where we are and an awakening to Nigerians that there is still hope for a better future if only we are ready to come together and take charge is passed across without hindrance. This is passed satirically through dance, music, acting, poem and pantomimic dramatization.
A fictional god called Irinajo is created, this god is given the special powers to reveal the past, present and future as well as create a solution for a bad future.
This god was called upon by the elders of the community of all tribes to reveal the cause of the bad happenings in the community and a solution to it. Irinajo let them know that you can not get a solution to a problem if you don’t know the root or history, he takes them on a journey to the past for the future to be revealed and the story unravels as he tells the story using the body of his great – grandson [itandotun] as a house or means to communicate.
A total crew members of 32 would create this history making event – 26 cast and 6 crew members. (Artistic Director, Stage manager, Head choreographer, Assistant Choreographer, Costumier and publicity manager).
Irin Ajo (The Journey) is stated for performance on Saturday 23rd of April, 2022. The day will witness one command performance, which will come with a red carpet that will commence at 2:00pm, while the performance 3:00pm, venue is the Theater Hall “Glover Memorial Hall’ , with the capacity of 750 sits, located at Marina Lagos State.
Tickets are already on sale for the production ranging from 5,000 for students, 10,000 for regular and 20,0000 for VIP.
Irin Ajo (The Journey) would be an eye opener to the many challenges facing the nation.
